Betty boo!!

Yay...Betty has at last stated laying eggs!

My mum bought me Betty from Middle Farm to be a girlfriend for my Poland boy Ludwig.  Sadly Ludwig didn't make it through his first winter at the farm (these are not hardy birds) but Betty has been going strong and now has had nooky with a welsummer Cockerell.  Am excited to see whether any of the eggs hatch and to see if the chicks have Betty's crazy hair!

Confessions of a slap dash quilter

This evening I have been busy cutting out 6" squares to make hsts for my new quilt...my second one which I have nicknamed 'the mid life crisis' due to it's humungous size for a completely newbie quilter.
I have made quite a few mistakes cutting fabric recently and am a little nervous about slicing into my precious little stash incase I waste it.  Tonight I spotted the potential reason for some of mistakes. ..my rotary cutter blade is on back to front.  It has been like this for some time.  I am hoping this will be the cure for my terrible slicing!
Hope you have all had a lovely Easter Sunday!

I am getting so excited to see all the beautiful fabric that people are choosing for this swap. Just wish we were getting a yard of each one *greed*

I have chosen this aqua beauty!

hello from the farmer's wife!!

Hello! Welcome to my new blog! The name has been suggested by my lovely friend Ceri as I am busy learning to sew on our muddy little farm in East Sussex.  I am a Mum of two little boys: Mr M is 2 and a half and Mr T is 8 months.  We have an assortment of animals including 4 golden retrievers and 2 pedigree tamworth pigs. I am infact a joiner's wife...my husband would be the first to correct me on that one.
I am currently on maternity leave and have been feeling a bit creative helped by a few lovely friends who have taught me the basics of patchwork.  I am muddling on through now and have just joined my first bee (japanese + & × block) so felt a blog is required for a few sewing and mummy related ramblings.

Please bear with me while I get the hang of it!!
